Kelley lives near the mountains in Maine with her husband JR. She is an occupational therapy practitioner, business owner, hiker, nature lover, artist, writer, gardener, and–her most cherished role–a mom. She is a mom to two grown children, a stepmom, and a bonus mom to many.
In 2019 she lost her youngest child Savannah to a hiking accident in Zion National Park. She has fought every day since to cope with the overwhelming grief and to refocus all that love into something meaningful. She has traveled, hiked, learned to paint, grew beautiful flowers and food, and explored many creative mediums to find peace and to feel as close to Savannah as she can.
In the process she developed the Adventuring Savy children’s book series to honor Savannah’s memory. She learned so much from all her children and hopes to give families one extra tool to help them teach their children more about compassion, kindness, self-love and creativity; concepts that seemed to take her decades to truly understand and master.
